Well, I finally watched episode one and I really enjoyed it (though I thought the challenge sucked). Here's the 'recap' of episode two.
This ad for Nike made me think about training.
I've trained with a guy who found out he had a brain tumor. He kept training (and eventually he died). I've trained with a dude after he had a serious car crash—he struggled to walk and talk, but he kept on training.
These dudes loved to train.
People who make excuses about not training haven't really grasped the joy of training. For me (like the guys I mentioned), it's not a matter of "I should" or "I have to"—I WANT to train. I don't train to lose weight, to get fit, to make friends, or feel good about myself (these are just side-effects—collateral damage)—I train because I love it.
It reminds me of a mantra a friend of mine used to chant when he trained . . .
I just f**king love it!
